Comfi-Stays is run by Gus Dominguez in the Chicago area. This page explains what happens to your information when you use comfistays.info.

The short version

We do not sell your information. We do not run ads. This site sets no cookies of its own. When you book, your payment details go straight to Hospitable, who run our booking calendar, and never touch this site.

When you are just looking around

Our host, Vercel, records each request to the site, including your IP address, the page you asked for, and your browser. That is ordinary server logging and it is how the site reaches you.

We also run Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page views. It records the page address, where you came from, and your rough location, browser and device type. It sets no cookies, and Vercel says it does not follow you to other websites.

We run Sentry to catch errors. If something breaks on your screen, Sentry receives the error, the page address, and a recording of what was on screen. The recording covers the minute before the problem and keeps going while you use this site in the same tab, for up to an hour. It hides all text and blocks all images, so it shows the shape of what went wrong and not what you typed or read. If nothing breaks, no error report is sent. Sentry's code loads on every page either way, so it sees your IP address whether anything goes wrong or not.

The maps load their images from CARTO, and the search bar on our homepage loads a font from Google. Both see your IP address, because your browser talks to them directly.

On every property page, the booking calendar loads from Hospitable before you touch it. Hospitable runs its own analytics there and sets its own cookies, whether you book or not.

When you contact us

The forms on this site ask for your name and email, and depending on the form, your dates, party size, phone number, property details, and whatever you write in the message box.

All of it goes into an email to gus@comfistays.info. We do not put it in a database. The email sits in our Google Workspace inbox until we delete it, and our email provider, Resend, keeps a copy for 30 days.

We use it to answer you. We do not add you to a mailing list.

When you book

The booking calendar on each property page is run by Hospitable and sits inside a frame on our page. Everything you type into it goes to Hospitable, who take the payment. It does not pass through our site and we never see your card details.

The frame also sets Stripe's fraud prevention cookies. Hospitable's own privacy terms cover that part.

Your dates and party size do appear in our page addresses when you search, so they show up in our logs and analytics. Nothing on our site puts your name or contact details in a page address.

Hospitable may also ask you to verify your identity with a government photo ID, through a service they use. That check happens on Hospitable's side and they hold whatever it produces. Depending on their settings, we may be able to view the result in our Hospitable account.

Cookies

comfistays.info sets no cookies. The only thing our own code stores in your browser is a short-lived ID that Sentry uses to group an error report, and it disappears when you close the tab.

The Hospitable booking frame sets its own cookies. Your browser settings control those.

Who your information reaches

Vercel, which hosts the site. Resend, which delivers our email. Google, which holds our inbox through Google Workspace and serves the font in our homepage search bar. Sentry, for errors. CARTO, for map images.

Hospitable runs the booking calendar and takes payment. It uses PostHog for its analytics and a card processor its documentation names as Adyen. Bunny delivers the code for the search bar on our homepage. Stripe's code inside the calendar sets fraud prevention cookies.

Each of these companies may use others of its own to do its work, and that chain can change without us knowing.

We do not sell your information and we do not share it with advertisers.

How long we keep it

Emails from the forms stay in our inbox until we delete them. Ask and we will delete yours. Resend holds a copy for 30 days. The server logs Vercel shows us clear within a day. Vercel does not publish how long it keeps its own records of your visit. Error reports at Sentry are held for one to three months. Page view counts sit with Vercel on their own schedule, and Vercel does not commit to a fixed limit. Those last three are set by the companies, not by us.
